I am delighted to announce that i have just won the Landscape Photographer of the Year 2009 Award at The Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers annual convention!
The SWPP, which has over 7000 members worldwide, hosts an annual convention and trade show at The Novotel in Hammersmith and is the largest photographic convention in Europe. Awards are given in a number of categories and are selected from 1500 Gold Award images from the monthly competitions throughout the year. The 1500 Gold Award images were previously selected from over 23,000 images submitted, so to be chosen as a title winner is a real privilege.
The Landscape category was sponsored by Epson Printers who kindly donated a professional printer worth over £1000! I had no idea at the time and was just pleased to go up on stage to accept the award from TV presenter Philippa Forrester of Tomorrow’s World fame. It was only after i returned to my seat that i was told i had also won the printer!
