Joanna and Ian are getting married!

We are really looking forward to photographing the wedding of Joanna and Ian at The Doubletree by Hilton hotel in Cambridge in May.

The Doubletree Hotel is in the heart of Cambridge and as such offers some fantastic photo opportunities with it’s modern architecture and prime location on the banks of the river Cam. There are also lots of historical buildings nearby to use as backdrops and we are excited at the prospect of getting some great shots.

To get a sense of what’s in store for them, we chose to do their pre-wedding photoshoot in another part of the historical centre of Cambridge. We are delighted with the results and can’t wait to do the wedding photographs.

Our pre-wedding photoshoots are part of the wedding packages that we offer and are a vital part of the wedding photography experience. The shoot helps our couples to feel at ease being photographed and directed by us and are therefore more relaxed having us around on their wedding day.

The pre-wed also gives our couples the opportunity to view images of themselves taken by us before the wedding and gives them confidence in our ability.  Some photographers place an additional cost on a pre wedding photoshoot, but we consider it so important that it is complimentary with our packages.

Here are a few of the images from the shoot. We hope you like them as much as we do!

Jessica and Neil’s Pre Wedding Shoot.

On Sunday we had a great time photographing Jessica and Neil who are getting married at Clavering Church in May.  It was a chilly and grey day, but we are really pleased with the pictures.

We are thoroughly looking forward to the wedding which sounds as though its going to be great fun.

Another Gold Award from the SWPP.

I am pleased to announce that i have won another Gold Award from the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers monthly competition. This months winner is in the Pictorial Category and was taken in Portishead, near Bristol.

This is my sixth Gold Award from the SWPP competitions which are run each month and the Gold Awards are given to the very best shots which are later published in the Societies magazine.

I am always delighted to be awarded a Gold accolade, especially when it is judged by fellow photographers as it gives some indication of the expected standard within the industry.

The winning photograph shows a sculpture of standing stones at the seafront in Portishead. When i took the picture, a retired couple came up to me and asked if i was taking it for a competition. I told them that i wasnt, but later when i worked on the picture on the computer, i realised that i had something a bit special.
