Before & After Photoshop Post Production.

One of our selling points is the amount of post production photoshop work we do on our photographs, so i thought it would be a good idea to show how this can dramatically change a picture into something a bit special. It also gives me the chance to show some examples of my landscape work!

So, here’s an example of a picture taken recently at Glen Etive near Glen Coe in Scotland. The mountain is Buachaille Etive Mor and is stunningly beautiful.

In order to create mood, i took a couple of shots at different exposures in order to get some sky detail. I then blended them together, applied some further effects and a bit of dodge and burn.

How about another from the same place. This time i drove further up the road to a small white cottage i had seen in the distance. It is called Black Rock Cottage and it was surely made to be photographed! While i was there a group of people arrived who were doing a course in landscape photography. I hope they got some great shots too.

Again, i took a couple of shots and blended the two together and added the same effects as the previous shot……

Finally, a shot of a cliff top church taken near Weston Super Mare. Here’s the basic shot…..

And after a bit of photoshop magic…..

I hope you enjoyed looking at some of my ‘non-wedding’ work. If you book a wedding consultation with us, you will get to see these pictures framed and on our walls at home. They look great, though i say so myself!

A Reminder about our shop window.

I noticed that on the new blog site there isn’t a mention of our window display in Saffron Walden, so here’s a reminder.

We have a permanent window display in the market town of Saffron Walden at the entrance to Holly Trees Hairdressers in Cross Street. We change the pictures around occassionally so it’s always worth taking a look to see what’s new. (You could even get your hair done – they are very good as my daughter Gabrielle will testify !)

It’s also a good opportunity to see our printed work close up and framed. We use Ultimat frames which are exclusive to photographers and are a first class frames and mounts which really display the photographs in all their glory.

We are in the process of displaying more framed prints at Bride-All, the wedding shop in Exning, near Newmarket. We are the recommended photographers of Bride-All and will be featuring in the new brochure which will be available from the wedding shop. Our framed photographs will soon be on the walls of the shop and sample wedding albums will be on display to browse through.

Collette & Stuart’s Wedding at Swynford Paddocks.

October 25th 2008, Swynford Paddocks, near Newmarket, Suffolk.

Collette and Stuart decided on an intimate wedding with just a few guests at Swynford Paddocks Hotel at Six Mile Bottom, near Newmarket in Suffolk. The hotel is a 17th Century house and makes an ideal location for weddings, providing photographers with some lovely settings.

The autumn weather had turned chilly, so we decided to do most of the pictures inside, using a blend of natural light, flash and video light.

The main window at Swynford Paddocks provides lovely soft daylight for bridal portraits.

And another of Collette at the window. I love this shot……

Collette looking stunning on the stairs at Swynford Paddocks.

Taken outside briefly before we all got too cold!

Just Married!

The staircase provides some great location shots. This was taken using ambient light and video light.
